I love clouds

Surrounded by a myriad of multicoloured balloons, the statue of Louis XIV embarks on a new imaginary journey. An immense bouquet of illuminated balloons seems to want to sweep away in to the clouds the sculpture which has impassibly dominated the place Bellecour for almost two centuries. Floating between heaven and earth, the balloons will form a giant cluster rising to 25 m above this statue, so familiar to the people of Lyon, appearing to invite it to leave its urban realm to rise into the azure sky. A poetic escape and festive evocation, this flight of light will possess the square andflood it with its presence.

This year it will focus on the Montée de la Grande Côte, famous for the history of its canuts (silk workers) and recently transformed into a pedestrianised area with esplanades and gardens. The world of childhood occupies an important place there today and this lighting work is projected through the innocent, imaginative eyes of children, keeping back a few surprises and illuminated dreams.

Cosmogole

Gallo-Romain and Christian central site, the amphitheatre of the 3 Gauls still spreading on French Territory, history and men. The scenographer, Philippe Morvan, retake this principle in luminous sensations: a central sphere irrigate 60 little lights globes, like the 60 Gallic tribe reunite at 1st century to found the first nation of our history. This festive and playful object spread and reflects luminous brightness.
